NEP Award of Excellence

Elevate Your Project Achievement: Apply for the Prestigious NEP Award of Excellence

The $500 NEP DPG Award of Excellence celebrates an individual who has, within the last 3 years, produced high-quality nutrition education work or implemented a nutrition education program that resulted in significant, measurable success within the professional field. Show us your best project!  Don't miss the chance to gain recognition for your exceptional contributions. 

Award of Excellence recipient will 

  • Receive $500

  • Be recognized in Networking News, (NEP newsletter), and at the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Academy) Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE). 

  • Discuss the possible submission of a newsletter article for Networking News (the NEP newsletter) with the NEP newsletter editor within 30 days after announcement of the award.

Winners are encouraged to share results of their project with Academy members by submitting a poster session for the next FNCE.


Eligibility: Active NEP DPG members of one-year or more are eligible. Current members of the NEP DPG Awards Committee and the NEP DPG Executive Committee are not eligible for the award.

NEP Outstanding Member Award

Spotlight an NEP All-Star: Nominate for the Outstanding Member Award!

The NEP DPG Outstanding Member Award recognizes a current NEP member who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, service, and leadership to the Nutrition Education for the Public dietetic practice group (DPG) over the past year. This $500 award is a chance to recognize a peer whose consistent effort has made a positive impact.  Recognize the dedication and hard work of a peer today! 

Active NEP DPG members of one-year or more are eligible. Current members of the NEP DPG Awards Committee and the NEP DPG Executive Committee are not eligible for the award.

NEP Student Scholarship

NEP is pleased to offer two $500 scholarships to current NEP student members to help support their attendance at FNCE®. To apply for the scholarship individuals must be current student members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and NEP, enrolled in programs accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and not credentialed as a Registered Dietitian.

Award recipients will receive:

  • $500
  • Recognition in Networking News and on the NEP website
  • Recognition at the NEP business meeting during the Academy Food and Nutrition Conference & Expo™
