Telemedicine Offers an Alternative to Registered Dietitians/Nutritionists

Telemedicine or telehealth offers an alternative to usual in-person nutrition services with registered dietitians/nutritionists. In today’s environment it is apparent that telemedicine is the future of healthcare. If this is where you practice or an area of interest, check out the NEP DPG Issue 1 2020-2021 which will bring you up to date on all aspects including coverage and payment.

Our next issue will address Food Insecurity. Please let us know if you would like to contribute regarding this important topic.

Testimonials

“Serving as the Secretary of the NEP DPG has given me the opportunity to connect with a wonderful group of RDs of different backgrounds both personally and professionally. I really enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with these RDs in a leadership role to create great content to support our NEP DPG members.”

- Samantha Diamond, MS, RD 2020-2021 NEP DPG Secretary

“I have been a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for 30 years.  It wasn’t until I knew someone that ran for a national position did I think about running for an Executive Committee member of Nutrition Education for the Public DPG.  I volunteered at FNCE to help with the DPG and decided to run for Treasurer.  The AND Accounting Staff are very knowledgeable and the DPG Relations Manager helps answer any questions I’m not sure about.  I have been able to volunteer a few hours a month and have gotten so much in return.”

-Sharon Meier Lutheran, MSH, RDN, LDN, CLC 2020-2021 NEP DPG Treasurer
