Joanna Morillo, MS, RD, CDN earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and her Master of Science degree in Health Promotion from the University of Connecticut. She completed her dietetic internship through the Master’s coordinated program at University of Connecticut.  Prior to starting her career as a dietitian, Joanna received a Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Entrepreneurship at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI.

Joanna currently works as a Resident Dietitian for Chartwells K-12 in Wethersfield, CT schools. She provides nutrition education to schools in the district through cafeteria food sampling events and classroom lessons.  She also assists with staff training and monitors compliance with federal and state guidelines and policies in her home district and districts throughout the state. Working with the Wethersfield Hunger Action Team, Joanna is also involved in identifying needs and providing nutrition education to the community.

Joanna’s professional areas of interest include:  community nutrition education, food safety, and food and nutrition policies.  Joanna’s hobbies include:  crafts, traveling, hiking, reading, and cooking.
